New Delhi. Till now, there has been uproar over the issue of Adani in the winter session of Parliament. This issue is being raised by Congress. Now, different voices of TMC are being heard among the opposition members. Once again Mamata Banerjee is seen taking a different stand from the India alliance.
Trinamool Congress (TMC) TMC has decided to adopt a different path from Congress in the meeting of its MPs on Wednesday. This meeting took place amid the uproar by Congress on the Adani case in both the houses of Parliament. TMC wants Parliament to function so that public issues can be raised. TMC leader in Rajya Sabha Derek O’Brien said that TMC wants to become the voice of the people in Parliament.
TMC wants to raise issues like the alleged reduction in funds received by West Bengal from the Center and the situation in Manipur. TMC Lok Sabha MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar said, TMC wants the Parliament to function. We do not want one issue to disrupt Parliament. We must hold this government accountable for its many failures. He further said, TMC wants to run the Parliament. We do not want a single issue to stall Parliament. It is important to hold this government accountable for its failures.
Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s party seems to be carving out a niche for itself in the India alliance. This situation has become stronger after the recent election defeat of Congress in Haryana and Maharashtra and the victory of TMC in Bengal by-elections. Most of the stalwarts of the INDIA alliance, including Banerjee, are expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Jharkhand Chief Minister and JMM chief Hemant Soren on Thursday. This will be a platform for the show of strength of the opposition alliance.
