An Ohio truck driver who was working in Kentucky won $50,000 in the lottery after stopping for a short break and lunch.
The Fairfield town man was on a commute across Kentucky when he stopped at a Sparta town truck stop during his lunch break. It was then that he decided to buy a scratch-off lottery ticket.
“I saw a lottery banner outside the store announcing a $50,000 winner and thought it would be great to win. “I thought: ‘Today I feel good enough to win.’ So, I took money from the ATM and bought a ticket, ”said the man, who preferred to keep his identity anonymous.
When he started to scratch off the ticket, he first saw that he had won $500.
“I was happy and content with it. I kept going when I scratched off two more prizes of $500, but then I saw $10,000. It took me a second to process it,” she said.
When he scratched off the entire ticket, the player discovered that he had won $50,000..
“My God, that’s 50 grand. My goal was $500, so I couldn’t be happier. Every time I think about it, I can’t believe it,” the lucky winner told lottery officials.
The man received a check for $35,750 after taxes. He said that he plans to use his new fortune to remodel his house.
