As part of Tiruchanur Sri Padmavati Ammavari Brahmotsavam, Vasantotsavam was celebrated in the temple on Thursday evening. A procession was held in the four Mada streets of the temple. In Brahmotsavam, Vasanthotsavam was held to give relief to the mothers who were tired after participating in Vahanaseva in the morning and evening. It is also known as relief festival. As part of the Vasantotsavam, Goddesses were specially anointed with sandalwood and various aromatic perfumes. Afterwards, devotees sprinkled sandalwood water on each other in Mada streets for cooling. On this occasion, officials and priests sprinkled the devotees enthusiastically.
As part of the Kartika Brahmotsavam of Sri Padmavati Goddess, on the fifth day Thursday night, Goddess Sri Padmavati paraded on the Gaja Vahanam and gazed at the devotees. Horses, bullocks and gajas move in front, amidst the music of mangal instruments and the chanting of devotees, Ammavara offers shelter to the devotees in the four Mada streets of the temple. The vehicle service started at 7 pm. At every step, devotees worshiped the goddess by offering camphor aartis.
On the fifth night of Kartika Brahmotsava, Goddess Padmavati rides on a golden vehicle. Brahmotsavam of Amma begins with the ascension of Gajapata. Gajavahana service is unique in Alamelu Manga Vahanaseva. Gajam is an indicator of wealth. That’s why the expression is “Agajantagam Aishwaryam”. Vedantadeshis have praised that the Gajarajas anointed the Mother of Sirula who appeared in the Palasamudra with devotion.
