Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel said he is open to reconsidering his decision to leave the team at the end of the season after Austria coach Ralf Rangnick refused to take over.
Tuchel said during a press conference: “It was agreed to terminate the contract. This is an existing matter, but any contract can be terminated by mutual agreement, because we have a current contract and we jointly agreed to terminate it, but everything is always possible.”
Despite the numerous rejections that Bayern received during its search for a coach, Tuchel confirmed that the position was “attractive enough” for him.
The coach said: “We have attractive tasks ahead of us. I am not worried about Bayern’s future.”
He also stressed that “the players do not want to know the identity of his successor next week,” and pointed out that “the players’ interest is tomorrow’s match (against Augsburg in the German League) and the Champions League match (against Real Madrid on Wednesday). This is what has priority.”
Tuchel said: “The goal of the second leg of the semi-final against Al-Merengue on Wednesday next week is to make the goal of reaching the Champions League final a reality.”
