However, the High Court took up the matter once again after the AP government appealed to the division bench challenging the single judge’s verdict. The respective owners have voluntarily closed 50 theaters in East Godavari district. They made this decision in protest of the authorities’ inspections. Authorities on Wednesday conducted inspections at cinema halls in the district. These inspections were carried out by giving notice to the theater owners if the ticket prices, the infrastructure in the theaters, the selling prices of the goods in the canteens were not correct or if there were any further violations.

Owners of C-category theaters voluntarily closed their theaters on Wednesday in the wake of authorities’ inspections. There are a total of 140 cinema theaters across the East Godavari district. Divided into A, B, C categories .. The government has fixed the ticket prices. Of these, ticket prices have been slashed. However, the owners are selling tickets at arbitrary prices, regardless of the government organism.

With this, on Tuesday, Jesse Sumithkumar arranged a special meeting with the owners of C category theaters in the district and issued a warning. More than 50 C-category theaters closed voluntarily on Wednesday. In addition, the decision was taken after the authorities conducted surprise inspections on several theaters in the district and issued notices. Theater owners are voicing that if movie tickets are sold at the prices fixed by the government, the expenses will be more than the revenue. They say that even a tea for at least Rs 10 does not come, and that it is very difficult to show movies with all the facilities for Rs 10.
