Mehmet Akif Turan –
Tunisian engineer Boubaker Siala has developed with his own funds an environmentally friendly electric light commercial vehicle called “Bako B10”, reports Anadolia.
Siala has produced an environmentally friendly vehicle with an electric motor equipped with solar panels.
After completing post-graduate studies in Ukraine and Germany, Siala, who worked with the world’s leading car manufacturers, wanted to make the experience he gained abroad useful for his country upon his return.
“During the quarantine period due to COVID-19, my son Ibrahim and I often rode an electric bicycle. In the process, I produced an electric bicycle myself. Then I started working on the development of an electric work vehicle, albeit a small one,” said Siala.
A commercial vehicle can carry a load of 300 kilograms.
“I named my vehicle Bako, inspired by the name ‘bako’, which means box or bag in the local Tunisian language,” explained Siala.
The Tunisian engineer said his vehicles are currently on the market for 12,000 Tunisian dinars ($4,000).
Siala said they faced many obstacles in patenting the vehicle, but eventually succeeded despite all the bureaucratic difficulties.
“The vehicle we are producing is a vehicle with high quality standards. Therefore, we believe it will be in demand in many countries, including Saudi Arabia and Qatar,” said Siala.
Although the electric vehicle market is a challenging market, he believes that they are at an advantage, because they can make changes to the vehicle according to the requirements.
Claiming that fossil fuel vehicles, which are causing global warming to increase in the world, will be withdrawn from the market in the coming period, Siyale said: “Fossil fuel vehicles, which are one of the biggest causes of pollution, are being replaced by renewable and environmentally friendly ones. vehicles”.
