New Delhi. Elon Musk-run Twitter-inspired Meta announced on Sunday that it is testing paid verification for Instagram and Facebook at $11.99 per month for web and $14.99 per month for mobile. Meta Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that the ‘Meta Verified’ account will provide users with a verified badge, increased visibility across platforms, priority customer support and more.
The company is first rolling out this feature in Australia and New Zealand and it will reach more countries ‘soon’.
In an Instagram post, Zuckerberg said, “This week we’re launching Meta Verified — a subscription service that lets you verify your account with a government ID, get a blue badge, fight against accounts claiming to be you.” Allows you to gain additional impersonation security and direct access to customer support.
This new feature is all about enhancing the authenticity and security of our services, he added.
To get Meta Verified users need to meet minimum activity requirements, be at least 18 years of age or older and submit a government ID.(IANS)
