New Delhi. Elon Musk-run Twitter will now show at least 50 percent fewer ads to Blue subscribers in a bid to woo more users, as well as increase their visibility on the platform. The micro-blogging platform has implemented the new tool on both the ‘For You’ and ‘Following’ tabs.
According to the company, “As you scroll down, you’ll see about twice as many organic or non-Promoted Tweets between Promoted Tweets or ads. There may be times when there are more or fewer non-Promoted Tweets between Promoted Tweets.”
However, this feature does not apply to ads shown in profile replies, promoted accounts and trends, and promoted events on the Explore page.
The company prioritized ranking in dialogue and discovered Blue users, who pay $8 per month.
Meanwhile, the blue check mark on Twitter for legacy verified accounts is still in place.
‘This account is verified because it is subscribed to Twitter Blue or is a legacy verified account,’ according to a new Verified tagline for Legacy Blue users.
According to Twitter’s CEO, “We’re adding the date of verification to profiles. Note, only adding the date to paid verification counts because there was a lot of corruption with the legacy checkmark in the past.”
According to Musk, from April 15, only verified accounts will be allowed to appear in ‘For You’ recommendations.(IANS)
