As a result of a fire in a multi-storey building in Norilsk on February 3, two children and a woman (preliminarily, the grandmother of the children) died, said the Main Directorate of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
“At 20:26 (16:26 Moscow time – Ed.) a message was received about a fire in a nine-story apartment building in Norilsk. <...> open flames could be seen from the windows of the apartment. <…> two children and an unconscious woman were evacuated. Resuscitation measures did not help, all three died, ”the message posted on the Telegram channel says.
Firefighters rescued four people from neighboring apartments, the Ministry of Emergency Situations added.
“The fire was eliminated on an area of 25 sq.m. at 22:09 KST (18:09 Moscow time – Ed.). 34 people and 13 pieces of equipment worked at the scene of the fire. The cause of the tragic fire is yet to be established by the investigative-operational group,” the ministry said.
A criminal case has been initiated on the fact of causing death by negligence to two or more persons. The cause of the fire is being established.
In the Orenburg region on the morning of February 3, the bodies of three people who died as a result of a fire in a semi-detached residential building were found. Two more people were injured. The roof collapsed during the fire.
