Two alleged perpetrators were killed and six police officers were wounded in a shootout that took place in a bank in Saanich, Canada. This was reported on June 28 by the CBC.
Police are looking for a third suspect.
Law enforcement officials say they also evacuated people from homes and businesses located near the scene due to the presence of a potential explosive device in a vehicle linked to the suspects.
At a briefing, police said two armed men entered a Shelbourne Street bank at around 11 a.m. local time on Tuesday. The attackers opened fire on the police and were shot dead at the scene.
The injured police officers were taken to the hospital. As specified, none of the bank employees, customers or residents of the city were injured.
On June 19, two people were killed in a shooting in the Canadian city of Brampton, Ontario, Canada. A regional police spokesman said the shooting appeared to have taken place at a local convention center where a Father’s Day event was being held at the time. One of the victims had six children.
