Agricultural Census: Flat owners to provide information
District Collector NSK Umesh said that all the flat owners of the district should cooperate by providing accurate information. Agricultural census is conducted once in five years as per the instructions of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare of the Central Government. The first agricultural census was conducted in the country in 1970-71. The data of this census is used to plan the necessary plans for the comprehensive development of the agricultural sector and to formulate policies in the socio-economic sectors.
Selected enumerators under the supervision of the investigators of the Department of Economic Statistics visit all houses, flats and establishments in all Panchayat Municipalities / Corporations and collect information related to the agricultural sector based on the agricultural year 2021-22 through this census.
The first phase of this census, which is conducted in three phases, collects primary information on the number and area of land owned and held by individuals and institutions, social class, gender, and type of land.
This data is used only for planning the development activities of the country. The information collected through this census will not be forwarded to anyone else. Officials of the department will visit the flats in the next few days and collect information about the occupied land from the flat residents.
