Two new cases of cerebral thrombosis have been reported in France after being vaccinated with the AstraZeneca vaccine. This was reported on Friday, May 7, by the French National Agency for the Safety of Medicines and Health Products (ANSM).
It is noted that one of the cases was fatal – a woman over the age of 60 died.
Since the introduction of the vaccine in France, there have been 30 cases of rare types of thrombosis, which have led to nine deaths of the vaccinated, the medical agency said. Two new cases occurred between 23rd and 29th April. In total, over 3.85 million people were vaccinated with this vaccine in the country.
On April 17, four deaths were reported after being vaccinated with AstraZeneca in France.
On April 14, it was reported that the European Commission in 2022 will not renew contracts for the supply of vaccines against coronavirus with companies AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson. In the future, the European Union is going to use RNA vaccines instead of vector vaccines.
