The Women’s Under-19 T20 Cricket World Cup Cricket Series is being held in South Africa. In this, the Indian team clashed with the United Arab Emirates yesterday. Batting first, the Indian team scored 219 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 20 overs. Openers captain Shabali Verma scored 78 runs in 34 balls with 12 fours and 4 sixes and Shweta Sherawat scored 74 runs in 49 balls with 10 fours.
The pair put on an impressive 111 for the first wicket in 8.3 overs. Richa Ghosh scored 49 runs off 29 balls with 2 sixes and 5 fours while Gongadi Trisha added 11 runs. Batting with a target of 220 runs, the UAE team managed to score only 97 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs.
Mahika Kaur scored 26, Lavanya Keni and Theertha added 16 runs. After winning by 122 runs, the Indian team is leading the table with 4 points in the ‘D’ category.
