The UAE is participating in the 17th edition of the Paralympic Games “Paris 2024” with 13 male and female players in four sports: shooting, athletics, cycling, and judo. The tournament will be held from August 28 to September 8.
Emirati players, both male and female, are competing among 4,400 male and female athletes participating in the tournament, which includes 22 sports and is being held in 20 sports facilities in the French capital, Paris.
The UAE delegation participating in the tournament includes seven male and six female players, with five players in shooting: Abdullah Al Aryani, Saif Al Nuaimi, Obaid Al Dahmani, Aisha Al Muhairi, and Aisha Al Shamsi, and six players in athletics: Mohammed Al Hammadi, Mohammed Othman, Mohammed Al Kaabi, Maryam Al Zayoudi, Noura Al Ketbi, and Dhikra Al Kaabi, in addition to Ahmed Al Badawi in cycling, and Maryam Al Dhanhani in judo.
For his part, the Chairman of the National Paralympic Committee, Mohammed Fadel Al Hamli, stressed that the participation of UAE sports in the Paralympic Games “Paris 2024” is an extension of the journey of giving and brilliance of the sports of people of determination in the UAE over the past long years, and its efforts were crowned with achieving many global achievements in various international forums.
He said, “Our participation in Paris 2024 represents a new chapter in the challenges and ambition to continue achieving the accomplishments that have culminated in winning 22 medals throughout the history of the Paralympic Games.”
