Meanwhile, the majority of respondents in other Arab countries, from Algeria to Iraq to Saudi Arabia, are largely opposed to warmer relations with the Jewish state, the survey found. The results of the survey show that the opposition to the agreement is strong in Bahrain, another Arab country that has signed the Abraham Agreement with the UAE and Morocco. Taking Arab youth opinion about Israel in general, 86 percent of Arab youth survey respondents see Israel as an enemy of their homeland.

The survey was conducted between 27 March and 12 April with 3,600 individuals aged 18-24 in 53 cities across the Middle East and North Africa. When asked about normalizing relations with Israel, 75 percent of young Arabs in the UAE responded positively. 73 percent of youth in Egypt and 50 percent of youth in Morocco supported it. They indicated that they either strongly supported or somewhat supported relations with Israel. Meanwhile, only 30 percent of Bahraini youth favor the country’s relationship with Israel. 53 percent expressed ‘strong opposition’ to Israel. Between 80 percent and 90 percent of young people in the other 14 countries surveyed harbor opposition to Israel. In Iraq and the Palestinian Territories, respondents were 100 percent opposed to Israel.
As in previous surveys, for the 12th year in a row, young Arabs have chosen the UAE as the country they most want to live in. UAE’s growing economy, entrepreneurial opportunities and successful leadership are cited as key reasons for this. The survey results also revealed that more than four in 10 Arab youth see the UAE as a safe and stable region.
