The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, thanked the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, who reacted to Russia at the high-level meeting of the UN Security Council chaired by him, where the Russian representative called it a violation that the Ukrainian president spoke before the members of the Council, reports Anadolu.
The Albanian Presidency of the Security Council of the United Nations has led the session on “Respecting the goals and principles of the UN Charter through multilateralism: Maintaining the peace and security of Ukraine”.
The high-level debate, which was led by the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, took place with the participation of the heads of state and government of UNSC members, as well as other officials, including the President of Ukraine. Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
During the meeting, the first addressed Zelenskyy, with which the Permanent Representative of Russia, Vasily Nebenzya, called the fact that the Ukrainian president spoke in front of the members of the Security Council a violation.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Rama, in response to the claim of the Russian representative, said: “For what you repeated several times that the violation here is about the fact that President Zelenskyy’s speech was before the members of the Council, there is a solution to this if you agree: Stop the war and President Zelenskyy will not speak”.
After this reaction, the president of Ukraine, Zelenskyy, thanked Rama through a post on the “X” social network.
“Dear Edi Rama, today at the UNSC you showed the world how to treat Russia, its lies and hypocrisy. I thank you for running the Presidency in such a principled way”, wrote Zelenskyy.
