At the same time, the permission of those who get infected with Covid or come in contact with a infected person after getting the permit for Umrah will be cancelled. Pilgrims will be allowed entry only after ensuring health and safety precautions including covid vaccination through Tavakalna app. The authorities informed that the conditions such as wearing a mask throughout the pilgrimage as well as in the mosques, exiting the Masjid al-Haram in Makkah immediately after the pilgrimage, and not carrying any unauthorized items while entering the mosque should be followed.

The Ministry also stated that things have been set up in such a way that locals and foreigners can easily apply for Umrah permit through the Itamarna app, both inside and outside the country. Permission for pilgrimage will be available on days from July 30. Various color codes have been implemented in the app to identify the probability of getting a permit. Green color indicates not much traffic, orange color indicates moderate traffic and red color indicates good traffic. A gray color indicates that a permit is unlikely to be obtained that day.
