A budget of 42 lakh crores has been proposed for ’41. It has provisions for every sector and every category. The slogans of Sapta Rushulu are in every budget. What matters is how much revenue this budget puts in the hands of the people. This year the growth rate is expected to be 7 percent. It is expected to be 6.5 percent next year. He said that steps have been taken to increase purchasing power. The announcement of about 10 lakh crores as capital expenditure is a positive aspect,’ commented Professor Nageshwar.
Allocating 2 lakh crores to railways is a good development. But.. Allocations are different.. Spending is different. Spending as much as allocated is good. Some relief was given in the matter of income tax. Now it is better to increase it from 5 lakhs to 7 lakhs. But the Union Finance Minister said that the revenue lost by the central government is 38 thousand crores. While there is a budget of 42 lakh crores, only 38 thousand crores is not a big deal. This is also not clarified. Professor Nageshwar made it clear that how much tax will be reduced for the common man.
Under welfare schemes, 2 lakh crores have been allocated for the Garib Yojana. If they say that 81 crore people will be covered by the Garib Yojana, they are indirectly saying that they are still in poverty. These are the calculations. What is the use of this budget for other countries? Why about Indian budget to people of other countries. The budget should be attractive to foreign investors. The budget should be useful to the people of the country. It is being said that Corona is completely gone.. The economy is good.. Then why the taxes on petrol and diesel have not been reduced. Why is the income tax not reduced more for the middle class people, asked Nageshwar.
“The Union Minister has not mentioned at all about the creation of additional jobs. What qualitative change will this budget bring? It should be said by the Union Minister. Especially the education system has gone back six years. They said that they will set up a digital library. It would be good to know how useful it is. The target seems to be to bring the fiscal deficit down to 4 percent. They also announced that they will make loans. Provisions are not fully spent when there is fiscal deficit. When the burden of debt is high, cuts in welfare schemes are inevitable. Why is there no mention of Make in India in this budget? What is the result of Make in India? Professor Nageshwar asked what has been done in this budget for the financial support of the states.
‘The challenges facing the people of the country are unemployment, lay off. Women’s employment is also decreasing. What did you think about public health after Corona? The education system has become chaotic due to Corona. Higher education is especially bad. Due to Corona.. if five people fall into poverty.. four of them are Indians. What was done to bring them back? How much has been allocated in this budget? The statements are good… but… the real thing will be known when the budget figures come out,’ commented Nageshwar.
Gautam Adani, the government calculates the income of a common citizen. How reasonable is this? Governments should be aware of who should be taxed and who should be spent. Allocations for railways are good.. but.. what has been done for public transport RTC in this budget. Millions of people use RTC every day. How much are the allocations for it? There should be more provision for jobs, employment, education, public health, public transport. Only then will it be useful to common people. We thought of a bold budget… but… they brought an incremental budget’, analyzed Nageshwar.
