Union Minister Piyush Goyal In Saudi Arabia Today For A Two-day Visit; Meeting With Three Ministers

Riyadh: Indian Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal will arrive in Saudi Arabia today for a two-day official visit. An official statement by the central government said that he will attend the seventh edition of the Future Investment Initiative (FII) in Riyadh.

There will be measures to further strengthen the commercial-industrial economic partnership between the two countries. On the sidelines of the event, Goyal will meet Saudi Arabian dignitaries including Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman Alsaud, Commerce Minister Majid bin Abdullah Al Qasabi and Investment Minister Khalid Al Falih.

Piyush Goyal will co-chair the conclave session on ‘From Risk to Opportunity: Strategies for Developing Economies in the New Industrial Policy Era’. The program is managed by Saudi Investment Minister Khalid Al Falih.

The Union Minister will interact with Indian business leaders in Saudi Arabia. He is expected to meet with prominent CEOs and business leaders from around the world, the statement said.

The Future Investment Initiative (FII) Institute is a non-profit global foundation started by Saudi Arabia. It is a forum for policy makers and business leaders from governments around the world to come together to discuss new avenues for investment. The foundation focuses on four areas: artificial intelligence and robotics, education, healthcare and sustainability.

Bringing together the world’s leading investors, business organizers, policy makers and experts in the field, the event will be a platform for creative exchange of ideas to explore and discover new markets and create economic growth and prosperity.

Saudi Arabia is one of India’s most important strategic economic partners. Trade between the two countries reached an all-time high of $52.75 billion in the last financial year. Bilateral cooperation has been strengthened with the formation of India-Saudi Strategic Partnership Council (SPC) in 2019. India also has such partnership with UK, France and China.
