Al-Wehda Club held a special celebration for the Egyptian Pyramids team, confirming the good relations between the two clubs, and activating the twinning agreement concluded by the two clubs last year. The celebration was organized on the occasion of Pyramids winning the Egypt Cup title last Friday after defeating ZD Club 1-0 in the final match as the first title in the club’s journey, which was established in 2018 with its new name.
The celebration was held in the conference hall of Al-Wehda Club, in the presence of prominent sports figures, headed by Mamdouh Eid, CEO of Pyramids Club, Hany Saeed, Sports Director, Mohamed Reda Boubou, team player, and a number of sports figures and media outlets.
Mamdouh Eid extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Diab bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Al Wahda Club, for the warm welcome inside the club, appreciating the strong relationship between the two clubs, and expressing his happiness to be in Abu Dhabi, saying: “Certainly, our winning of the Egypt Cup is a success that we are happy about, especially since it is the club’s first championship, which gives it a special flavour. This achievement confirms that the club is on the right track, because the Egypt Cup Championship, which was launched in 1922, more than a hundred years ago, is a prestigious championship that has only been won by 12 clubs throughout its long history, and now we have become the 13th club over 102 years, all of which are reasons that make us proud of this achievement.”
Eid said that winning the Egypt Cup gives the club a strong incentive in the coming period to achieve more championships, noting that Pyramids has been accustomed since its first appearance to competing for various titles with the presence of an elite group of distinguished players who have defended its logo in the past and currently, adding: We confirm that we are currently seeking to compete in various competitions, whether local or continental, and I believe that the club is worthy of competition in light of the capabilities and potential it possesses.
