Al-Wasl will engage in a heavy-caliber confrontation when it hosts Al-Jazira in the 21st round of the ADNOC Professional League, the day after tomorrow, Friday, at Al-Wasl Stadium in Zabeel, as Al-Waslawiyya worked during the past days to motivate the players in an unprecedented way, so that the team continued its victories.
Al Wasl Football Company’s official account published a hashtag on the “X” platform called #Al Hassam_in_Zabeel. A large number of fans interacted with it and called on the team to prepare in the best possible way for the upcoming confrontation against Al Jazira.
Al-Wasl Club Executive Director, Ibrahim Al-Haddad, stressed the importance of the match, sending a message to Al-Waslawi fans through his account on the “X” platform, saying: The team will play the most difficult match in the league, adding: “Facing Al-Jazira in the next round is the most difficult match of the season.”
He said: “The return of Ali Mabkhout makes Al Jazira a completely different team, and Mabkhout and the competitor have strong numbers and a great advantage over Al Wasl since the start of the professional league.”
He continued: “My message to the dear fans: The team needs you in the stands with your ideas, initiatives, and strong enthusiasm. We cannot fall into the trap of drugging and ensuring coronation. Al Wasl is much smarter than that.”
He concluded: “Zabeel must be full. Spread the enthusiasm as if the match is today.” We will meet you in Zabeel.”
In the same context, a member of the Board of Directors of Al Wasl Football Company, Ahmed Al Taniji, posted on his account on the “X” platform a tweet saying: “One family, one goal, one ambition, one path, Zabeel is waiting for you on April 26.”
He continued, saying: “We forget anything negative on the way now, and we focus on supporting the team only in the last 42 days of the season.”
It is noteworthy that Al-Wasl achieved victory in the last nine matches it played in the league, over Ittihad Kalba, Shabab Al-Ahly, Al-Nasr, Emirates, Sharjah, Baniyas, Khor Fakkan, Ajman, and finally over Hatta, to top the standings with 51 points, 11 points behind Shabab Al-Ahly, which is in second place with 40 points.
After facing Al-Jazira in the 21st round, Al-Wasl has six other matches, against Al-Bataeh, Al-Wahda, Ittihad Kalba, Al-Ain, Shabab Al-Ahly and Al-Nasr, as it is enough for the “Emperor” to win four of the seven matches, to guarantee the crowning of the league title for the eighth time in its history.
Al-Wasl enters the match with Al-Jazira with the aim of achieving an unprecedented record in the history of the two teams’ confrontations in the “Professionals”. If it wins next Friday, it will achieve a third successive victory over “Pride of Abu Dhabi” in one season, which is something Al-Wasl has never achieved before against Al-Jazira since the introduction of professionalism in 2008, where Al-Wasl won the first leg at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium by four goals to two, then eliminated Al-Jazira from the quarter-finals of the President’s Cup, beating them by three goals without a response.
