Patrick Romantik is a Peruvian composer, producer and singer who has worked alongside figures such as Jennifer López, CNCO, Natti Natasha, Enrique Iglesias, Becky G, Bad Bunny, Prince Royce, Marc Anthony, Silvestre Dangond, Mike Bahía, Thalía, Pedro Capo, among others. In our country, he has collaborated with groups such as Group 5, Corazón Serrano, Yaipén Brothers , among others. Now, he announces his return to the scene with ‘Aguante Inmigrante’, a Peruvian cumbia that is part of his new album titled ‘La cumbia del futuro’.
The plot, he explains, reflects the migration experienced by millions of people who leave their country and seek to fulfill their dreams in other lands. It is the first single whose message of growing up and not giving up in the face of life’s adversities, hopes to resonate with those who listen to it. The premiere will be this May 17 in all digital platforms .
“I went out looking for my dream, looking for a job to survive; but that’s the life I have to live, that’s my luck and I have to continue. I’m an immigrant, I never go back, always forward; and if I fall Well, I get up, I have endurance,” reads part of the lyrics of ‘Immigrant Endurance’ , which reflects his own experiences. “I hope that the song transcends borders and connects with listeners from diverse cultures who can also enjoy the musical richness of Peruvian cumbia,” says the artist.
How were your beginnings?
Patrick Romantik was born in Cercado de Lima and at the age of 16 he migrated to the United States. There he developed his musical career in the city of Miami, until he became a renowned international producer. Internationally he is an award-winning and powerful composer with platinum and diamond certifications. After his first global successes, he began his path as a singer by embracing the Andean sound of the charango, which he captured on his debut album for Sony Music in 2018.
Now he announces his return and he also does so with a video clip for ‘Aguante immigrante’ that was recorded in the Hialeah neighborhood, the most Hispanic city in the United States. The artist has his own label Koi-To records and PJ records is the management in the US.
