AThe city of Dallas, Texas, America. August 15th was declared as ‘Indian American Day’ in Dallas. Dallas Nagar Mayor Eric Johnson organized a special meeting with some expatriate Indian leaders at the city hall. This was announced on this occasion. Expatriate Indians in America are making preparations to celebrate India’s 75th Independence Day in a grand manner.
Mayor Eric Johnson stated that there are about 2 lakh diaspora Indians living in the surrounding areas of Dallas and Fort Worth.. Their efforts in the progress related to education, medicine, business, commerce, science and technology are commendable. He praised the fact that Indian diaspora settled in various business sectors in North Texas and contributed to the economic development of the region by generating more than 10 billion dollars in income. Heartfelt thanks to all of them.

Expatriate Indian leaders Arun Aggarwal, Salman Far Shori, Rajneesh Gupta and Dr. Thotakura Prasad participated in this special felicitation program on the cordial invitation of the Mayor of Dallas. On this occasion, Mayor Eric Johnson presented an official document declaring August 15 as ‘Indian American Day’ in Dallas.
