The Minister of Industry and Law Department said that it is the strength of our human resources that Malayalis can get well-paid jobs anywhere in the world. Rajeev said in Thiruvananthapuram. He was speaking at the state-level inauguration of Norca Roots’ Generic Pre-Departure Orientation Program (PDOP) in Thiruvananthapuram. The strength behind the growth of the Malayalee Nurses brand is the reputation earned by the older generation of nurses who migrated from Kerala to foreign countries. Kerala is becoming a hub of hospitals that can provide the best services to patients from many countries of the world. Therefore, the hospital managements will be forced to pay higher wages to the nurses and staff here too, he said. The government is giving importance to government-to-government recruitment agreements with an aim to avoid frauds in foreign recruitment. Appreciating Norka Roots, P. Rajeev clarified.

Pre-departure orientation program is organized for those who are going to foreign countries for study or work, with the support of Reach Finishing School, a part of Norka Roots Kerala State Women Development Corporation. The program is designed to sensitize students and candidates about immigration procedures to foreign countries. About 320 students including from five nursing colleges of Thiruvananthapuram district participated in the program held at Hotel SP Grant Days. Ajith Kolassery, General Manager of Norka Roots, welcomed in the opening ceremony. Kerala State Women Development Corporation Managing Director Bindu.VC, Joint Director of Nursing Education Dr. Salina Shah, Norka Roots Projects Manager Sushambahai also participated in the function.
