Manik Thackeray visited the state for the first time after being appointed as the in-charge of Telangana affairs by the Delhi High Command. Venkata Reddy said that he will definitely contest from the Nalgonda assembly seat in the next election and will announce the party from which he will contest before the election. There are speculations in the district politics that there is a possibility of Komati Reddy contesting from BJP as he is away from Congress and there is no possibility of joining BRS. As he is currently a sitting MP from the Congress, his followers say that it would be better if he joins the BJP before the assembly elections.
Earlier, Ventareddy met Congress National President Mallikharjuna Kharge. He took notice of the political developments in the state Congress. He promised to give a key position in the Congress at the national level. But there was no response from Venkata Reddy. Mallikharjuna met Modi in the PM Chamber of Parliament two days after meeting Kharge. They met for about 15 minutes.
