New Delhi | Elon Musk-run Twitter on Thursday announced that anyone can now appeal against the suspension of their account. The move is part of last week’s announcement that Twitter would take less severe action against user accounts that break its rules, asking them to remove controversial tweets and move on. Starting today, anyone can request that we review a suspended account for reinstatement under our new criteria, Twitter said.
Restored accounts, like all accounts on Twitter, will still have to follow Twitter’s rules.
The company said last week that it would only suspend Twitter accounts that repeatedly violate its rules.
The company reserves the right to suspend accounts for repeated violations of our policies, the micro-blogging platform said.
Serious violations include engaging in illegal content or activity, inciting or threatening violence or harm, violating privacy, platform manipulation or spam, and targeted harassment of users.
Twitter said it is formally restoring previously suspended accounts (IANS)
