During the past hours, the Saudis were preoccupied with a large fire that broke out in the Dhahran Mall complex in eastern Saudi Arabia at dawn today, Friday.
Many of the tweeters on Twitter transmitted video clips, showing thick columns of smoke rising from the site.
While the fumes that spread widely appeared concentrated in three gates 10, 11 and 12 of the complex, despite the civil defense teams approaching the accident in an attempt to put out the fire.
For its part, the Civil Defense explained in a statement posted on its Twitter account that a fire broke out in the ceiling insulators of the well-known complex, and no injuries have been recorded so far.
It is noteworthy that safety laws in the Kingdom specify many procedures that must be available in buildings and commercial complexes in order to deal with any fire.
The Civil Defense and other concerned institutions have published detailed regulations on conditions and requirements, including, for example, the necessity of providing a number of escape ways (emergency exits) and their absorptive capacity, as well as providing corridors for entry to ambulances, firefighters, and others.
