Born in Guntur in 1952, Sagar worked as an editor and assistant director for many films in the early days of his career. He became a director with the movie ‘Rakasi Loya’ released in 1983. The movie Stuartupuram Dongalu (1991) brought him recognition as a director. This film won 3 Nandi Awards. Vidya Sagar Reddy’s films such as ‘Amma Donga, Akhtar, Osi Na Maradala’ brought him good name.. ‘Khaidi Brothers’ which came out in 2002 was his last film as a director.
Industry leaders are mourning the death of senior director Vidyasagar Reddy. Meanwhile, his last rites will be performed in Chennai today evening.
