Izvestia correspondent Alexei Poltoranin said on Wednesday, February 1, that the situation in Kremennaya in the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) remains stably tense. He also showed footage of the destruction of nationalist positions.
According to him, the work of the artillery of the Russian Armed Forces (AF) is constantly heard in the positions. The footage he presented shows a real “artillery duel”, but the intensity of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) is much less, Poltoranin noted.
As follows from the video, Russian artillery hits enemy dugouts and trenches, destroying positions and personnel.
As a fighter with the call sign Schumer told reporters, the fortifications of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are temporary.
“Such fortified areas as they formed in the Severodonetsk and Lisichansk directions, concreted, are not here,” he said.
Earlier that day, Police Colonel of the Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR) Vitaly Kiselyov noted that the defense system in the Kremennaya and Svatovo areas was built very competently. The Russian army advances towards the village of Terny in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR). It is from there, according to Kiselyov, that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are trying to attack the positions of the Russian military.
On January 27, the crew of the tank support combat vehicle (BMPT) “Terminator” destroyed the strongholds of Ukrainian militants in the Kremennaya area. They were discovered by a drone of the Western Military District (ZVO), after which fire was opened on them from two 30-mm 2A42 cannons and AG-17 grenade launchers.
On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special operation to protect Donbass. The decision was made against the background of the aggravation of the situation in the region as a result of shelling by the Ukrainian military.
