Desk. Voting is being held for by-elections in 15 assembly constituencies of 4 states along with Maharashtra and Jharkhand and Nanded Lok Sabha seat on Wednesday. Voting will continue till 6 pm. The result will come on 23rd November. There was a clash between Congress-AAP supporters over voting at a booth in Dera Baba Nanak seat of Gurdaspur district of Punjab.
At present the police has reached the spot. The matter is calm now. On the other hand, in Uttar Pradesh, SP has alleged that the police has taken away one of its supporters from a booth in Karhal assembly seat of Mainpuri district. SP booth agents are being threatened. Police and RAF made people run in Chamanganj area of Sisamau seat of Kanpur. Voters in Muslim dominated areas allege that the administration is scaring people so that they do not go to vote.
SP MLA Amitabh Vajpayee has been put under house arrest in Kanpur. Police are deployed outside his house. A mob pelted stones at the police during voting in Meerapur Kakrauli in Muzaffarpur district of Uttar Pradesh. Here SP has accused the administration of working for the BJP candidate. Also accused of stopping SP supporters from voting.
UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also appealed to the people to vote enthusiastically before the start of voting for the by-elections. He said, ‘Voting is going to be held today on Mirapur, Ghaziabad, Kundarki, Khair, Karhal, Sisamau, Katehari, Majhwan and Phulpur assembly seats of Uttar Pradesh. There is an appeal to all respected voters to vote to provide more speed and strength to the continuous development journey of Uttar Pradesh.
