Voting for the Mohammed bin Rashid Award for Excellence in Horse Racing has opened

The Dubai Racing Club announced, in an official statement, today, Monday, the opening of voting for the sixth edition of the His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Excellence in Horse Racing through the (People’s Choice) and (Best Local Knight) awards.
The statement indicated that the audience has the opportunity to vote in two categories, the first is the People’s Choice Award, which was obtained by Saudi coach Sarah Al-Qahtani last year, and voting in this category takes place via the Internet, which is the same case that sets off the voting mechanism for the award for the best local knight and won her title in The last version is the jockey Antonio Friso, with the list of candidates for this category being determined by the first four riders in terms of victories in the last UAE racing season.
The statement indicated that the knight Friso sought to defend his title against TAG O’Shea, the champion of knights in the UAE on 10 occasions, in addition to Richard Mullen and Bernardo Pinheiro.
The statement pointed out that the award honors the public’s choice of a person or horse that has contributed a lot to the world of racing and amazed the masses with its achievements. In a list that includes candidates for the 2023 edition, each of the horse “Codiz Wish” is the champion of the “Brides Cup Dirt Mile” race, and the horse “Fayed” The winner of six races in the first category in Europe, and jockey Joao Moreira, who will retire from racing soon, in addition to the exceptional stallion Galileo, who died in 2021.
The statement concluded that the winners are honored in six other categories, which are decided by statistical analysis or a committee of experts, but they are not open to public voting, which are awards: the best horse, the best owner, the best coach, the best knight, the diligent bid, and the Excellence Award. The winners will be announced on the day of the awards ceremony that will be held on the “Super Saturday” evening on the fourth of March 2023, provided that voting ends on Monday, the 13th of February.
