Representatives of the Justice and Development Party warned of the repercussions of the tension occurring in the Bab al-Mandab Strait in the Red Sea on Morocco’s foreign trade.
The Parliamentary Group for Justice and Development wrote to the Minister of Industry and Trade and the Minister of Economy and Finance, asking them to intervene in order to protect Moroccan foreign trade and prevent it from being negatively affected at the level of the Bab el-Mandab Strait in the Red Sea.
The group said in its two questions, signed by its president, Abdullah Buwano, that the Bab al-Mandab Strait, on the Red Sea, has been experiencing tension since November 2023, affecting the routes of maritime cargo ships and maritime navigation traffic.

The source stressed the need to reveal the measures that the government will take to avoid any negative impact of this tension on the supply situation in Morocco.
