Mumbai: This is the difference between T20 and Test cricket in bowling, says Australian Test cricket captain and Kolkata batsman Pat Cummins.
Cummins has been playing for Kolkata in the current IPL season. He has taken 7 wickets in 5 matches. He had missed the first few matches of the current season due to playing cricket while touring Pakistan. He scored 56 off 15 balls against Mumbai. So, what is the difference between bowling T20 and Test cricket? He has explained that.
“Test cricket and T20 cricket are completely different. In Test cricket, bowling fitness is very important. You have to play for five days or so. You have to bowl every over with the aim of taking wickets.
But T20 cricket is not like that. The dominance of batsmen here is high. What happens in some matches is that even if the bowlers throw the ball brilliantly, the bat becomes the edge and the ball goes to the fours. That is T20 cricket. Here you have to control the runs rather than dropping the wicket. If the bowler bowls the last over and gives 10 or 12 runs, it is seen as the best result. That is why this format has attracted the attention of a large number of people. That’s why I was even allowed to spin the bat, “said Cummins.
