Sports Desk. West Indies has announced a 15-member squad for the Pakistan tour next month. Aamir Jangu has been given a chance for the first time in the West Indies team. West Indies team will play a two-match test series on Pakistan tour. Left-arm spinner Gudakesh Moti has returned to the Caribbean team, who could not take part in the home series against Bangladesh last month.
According to Cricket West Indies, Shamar Joseph is out of the team due to calf injury and he will not be able to take part in the ODI series against Bangladesh this month. Alzarri Joseph will be unavailable due to other commitments. Aamir Jangu made his place in the national team by performing brilliantly in domestic cricket in 2023-24. He scored more than 500 runs in 5 four-day matches at an average of 63.50.
During this period he scored two centuries and one half-century. He was the best run scorer of Trinidad and Tobago. Apart from this, Jangu’s performance in the ODI format was also excellent. He gave a memorable victory to West Indies by scoring a century in his debut match against Bangladesh.
However, there have not been many changes in the West Indies team. Kraigg Brathwaite will lead the team while wicketkeeper batsman Joshua de Silva will be the vice-captain. Mikel Lewis, Alec Ethanje, Casey Carty and Justin Greaves will man the batting order. Kemar Roach will lead the fast bowling attack, who will be supported by Jayden Seales and Anderson Phillip.
