Western Union decided to provide a service without fees to its customers from all over the world on all financial transfers sent to support their families and loved ones in need in the Kingdom of Morocco.
The company announced that this step is considered a solidarity step on its part and supportive of individuals affected by the repercussions of the devastating earthquake that struck many areas in Morocco.
The source said that the aforementioned service is available for cash transfers at agent branches until twelve o’clock midnight, Central European Summer Time, on September 19th. As well as financial transfers via bank accounts until 12 midnight Central European Summer Time, on October 11.
The same company confirmed that it has canceled fees on financial transfers sent to the Kingdom of Morocco via “Western Union” services within its global network, through all available digital channels, retail offices, and agent branches.
On the other hand, Moroccan banking institutions are still deducting sums of money for the service of transferring donations from customer accounts to the special fund for the repercussions of the earthquake in Al Haouz and neighboring areas, amid widespread dissatisfaction and anger on the part of Moroccans because this feature is not exempt from fees, as an expression by these financial institutions of their solidarity with the victims of the earthquake.
