Who is Cristina Saralegui?
Cristina Saralegui is a prominent journalist and television host who gained fame among the Latin American community for her work on “El show de Cristina”, an interview program that became a favorite with the public. The space was broadcast on the Univisión network and was on the air for 21 years.
Born in Havana, Cuba, she migrated to the United States with her family fleeing the dictatorship of Fidel Castro. She continued her high school studies in Miami and then attended the University of Miami in 1966. After a long career as a magazine editor, her life would take an artistic turn in 1989, the date on which she debuted as host and executive producer of the mentioned space.

After leaving Univision, Cristina Saralegui was hired by the competition Telemundo. At said station, she was also in charge of a talk-show program called “Pa ‘lante con Cristina”; however, this was not as successful as expected and was canceled almost a year later.
“I felt bad. I got terribly depressed, because I’ve been working since I was 17 years old. I miss very, very much, having things to do all the time,” he said about his unexpected departure from Univisión to People.
After moving away from the screens, he would experience difficult moments and losses, which he shared in various show programs. One of the events that marked her the most was the death of her brother Iñaqui Sarelegui, who was her personal assistant and a person very close to her. She also talked about her problems with alcohol after learning about her son’s bipolarity.

He has stayed out of the limelight and is currently writing his memoirs and experiences. She lives a quiet life together with her husband and her children in Miami and, although she assured in an interview that she is comfortable with her new life, she still hopes to return to TV.
