What is scurvy?
Most of us have not heard about the skin disease called scurvy. However, this skin disease which affects our life in some way is mainly due to lack of vitamin C. If there is no presence of vitamin C in the food we eat, it slowly leads us to scurvy.
Vitamin C is essential for maintaining the health of our skin cells, maintaining healthy muscles and bones, and boosting our immune system. However, if vitamin C is low, none of these functions will take place in the body. This leads to a skin disease called scurvy.
What is the cause of this disease?
Our body can never produce vitamin C. Instead, we get vitamin C from the foods we eat, as well as from fruits and supplements. But if vitamin C does not reach the body for three months, it leads to scurvy. So, the only way to prevent this disease is to get proper supply of Vitamin C in your body. What are the symptoms?
Like any disease, when this disease occurs, there are certain symptoms that the body shows. The first of which is excessive fatigue and exhaustion. We feel as if the body is too tired. Always wanted to lie down. Also, you may feel so tired that you can’t even get up. Not feeling like doing anything. All of which are a symptom of scurvy.
Not only tiredness, but also pain in the body. Especially knee pain and joint pain can be troublesome. Many people consider it as sadha pain. Likewise, you may also see swelling, oozing, and oozing in the legs and arms. Even a single touch on the body can cause wounds, similarly, such wounds can occur inside the body and this is the reason why the skin looks like it has caught a pant.
Not only this, the gum feels spongy in the mouth. You may even feel some kind of bad smell in your breath while breathing. All the teeth are clenched and you feel as if you are weak. Also, it causes wounds to form on the body and remain unhealed. You may see bleeding from your lips and mouth, as well as from your nose and eyes.

Scurvy is a preventable disease if we pay attention. The first thing we need to do is to include fruits and vegetables in our diet. This disease can be prevented if the right amount of foods containing vitamin C is consumed daily.
