Deepti’s love story
Deepti’s is the story of a life that turned from close friendship to love. Initially, Ambani’s residence was on the 22nd floor of Usha Kiran, a landmark of Mumbai. On its 14th floor lived prominent businessman Vasudev Salgokar and his family.
Having built a business empire from humble beginnings, Salgaokar and Ambani quickly bonded over similarities and friendship. The warmth of friendship spread to both families. With the unexpected death of Vasudev Salgokar, the friendship between his son Dattaraj Salgokar and Deepti Ambani deepened. Slowly it turned into love. After dating for five years, the two got married on 31 December 1983. Then started a new life in Goa.

Her husband, Dattaraj Salgokar, popularly known as Raj, is looking after the family business. VM Salgokar is the managing director of the group. He is also the owner of Salgokar Goa, a well-known football club in the sports world. He holds a degree in Production Engineering from Bombay University and an MBA from Wharton Business School.
Relationship with Nirav Modi
Deepti’s life, which keeps a distance from even positive news, has also had to face unexpected setbacks. Deepti and Raj’s daughter Isheta Salgokar’s first marriage was to Nishal Modi. Nishal Modi is the younger brother of Nirav Modi, the controversial figure in the Punjab National Bank fraud case. Isheta and Nishal Modi got married in 2016.
After Nirav Modi was accused in financial fraud, the controversy hit Deepti’s family as well. But Isheta and Nihal got separated. Later, Isheta got married to Atulya Mittal, the nephew of billionaire businessman LN Mittal and the founder of Nexue Mobility.
