San Francisco. Meta-owned WhatsApp is rolling out a new group calling feature on macOS devices that will allow users to make group calls with select participants.
According to WBeta Info, earlier it was not possible to start a group call because the button was either disabled or not working on macOS.
However, in the latest update to WhatsApp beta, the call buttons (audio and video) are finally available, and users can now start a group call.
Furthermore, the report states that the new feature will also allow users to make a group call with people who are not in the same group.
Simply open the Calls tab and tap on the Create Call button.
In this section of the app, users can create a new group call by selecting the people they want to add to the call.
It has also been told in the report that users will be able to choose a maximum of 7 people in this section, but later a maximum of 32 people can join the group audio call.
As per the report, along with all the other improvements, the group calling feature is available to some beta tellers.
Meanwhile, WhatsApp is reportedly working on a broadcast channel conversation on Android, which includes 12 new features.
Features include a messaging interface, verification status, follower count, mute notification button, handles, actual follower count, shortcuts, channel description, mute notification toggle, visibility status, privacy and reporting in Conversations.(IANS)
