Los Angeles County is accepting applications for a program called Breathe, in which monthly payments of $1,000 will be given for two years.. 200 people who were raised in foster homes as children will be selected.

Last year, this program selected 1,000 people to give $1,000 a month for three years.
Now, the program will include 200 more people, and they, too, will receive $1,000 each month, but only for two years, a Los Angeles County spokesman told the Washington Examiner.
The above thousand recipients were randomly selected from a pool of eligible applicants.
New applicants must be at least 21 years old and must not turn 24 before September 1.
Applicants must also have been Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services foster youth who were in care on or after their 18th birthday.
In addition, applicants must meet certain income criteria, including household income not to exceed 100% of area median income for single-person households, or not to exceed 120% of area median income for single households. households made up of two or more individuals.
They must also have been adversely affected by the coronavirus pandemic and not currently enrolled in another guaranteed income program.
The University of Pennsylvania, along with other research partners, will conduct a randomized study to test how well the program works.
You do not need to join the study to receive monthly payments, but if you decide to participate, you will need to provide regular information about your general health and well-being.
Study participants will receive a $30 gift card for each survey they complete..
