Born in Hartford, Connecticut, and raised in Orocovis, Puerto Rico, Colón combines her role as a mother with an outstanding career in the world of beauty, art and community service. With a solid profile and a vibrant presence, she will seek to make history in Mexico as the first Puerto Rican mother to compete for the Miss Universe crown.

Who is Jennifer Colón, the representative of Puerto Rico in Miss Universe 2024?
Jennifer Colón Alvarado is a model, actress and social activist who has carried the Puerto Rican flag in various beauty pageants throughout her career. Since she was little, she showed an inclination towards music, art and science, interests that she developed over time while growing up in the municipality of Orocovis. Colón is known not only for her talent and beauty, but also for her dedication to causes that seek to improve the quality of life of women in vulnerable situations.
Jennifer began her journey in modeling from an early age, participating in pageants such as Miss Teen Puerto Rico in 2006 and Miss Puerto Rico Universe in 2009. In that edition, she represented Puerto Rico in the Miss Universe pageant held in South Africa, where she impressed. with its elegance and presence on the catwalk. Beyond the world of beauty pageants, Jennifer Colón has developed a multifaceted career that encompasses aesthetics, music and social work. Colón is a certified esthetician and iridologist. As an esthetician, she helps her clients improve their appearance and well-being, while her training in iridology allows her to explore an alternative medicine technique that seeks health information through iris analysis.
On the social front, Jennifer is the founder of Healing Hands Puerto Rico, a non-profit organization that offers free aesthetic services to women in difficult circumstances, helping them rebuild their self-esteem and dignity. This work reflects her commitment to supporting those who need it most, especially Puerto Rican women seeking to overcome adversity.

She will be one of the 10 mothers who will participate in Miss Universe 2024
Jennifer Colón will be part of a select group of mothers who will compete in Miss Universe 2024, in what represents a historic change for the most important beauty pageant in the world. For the first time, the contest allows mothers to participate, breaking the rule that, until recently, limited the competition to women without children. This decision opens the stage for candidates with more diverse life stories and richer experiences, and Colón is one of the candidates who will seek to represent all mothers in this edition.
Jennifer has three children: María Valentina, her first-born, was born when Colón was only 23 years old; Later, she had her son Fernando José. After her first marriage and years of stability, in 2021 she divorced and some time later had her youngest daughter, Cataleya, the result of her relationship with actor Jairo Calero. Motherhood has been one of her greatest sources of inspiration and it is a role she carries with pride. Colón has stated on several occasions that her children are the driving force that drives her to move forward and take on new challenges.
