It was under Rajesh Gopinathan that TCS became the second most valuable company in India. In FY2023, the company’s market value has crossed $168 billion. As the company’s revenue rose, so did its customer base.
According to reports, Gopinathan received Rs 25.75 crore as salary in FY2022. According to the annual report of TCS for the financial year 2021-22, the increase in salary was 26.6 percent.

He was the fifth highest paid IT company CEO in India. C. Vijayakumar of HCL topped the list in 2021 with a salary of Rs 123.13 crore. But there are no clear indications as to why Gopinath, who held the top position in TCS, is suddenly resigning. Wishing all the best to the successor, he said he thoroughly enjoyed the exciting period in memory of TCS. Gopinathan, a native of Thrissur, was the head of TCS for the last six years.
