For two years, the band performed 292 times in the local until reaching great popularity. In 1963, they signed a contract with the label EMI and they played for the last time in this emblematic youth meeting room.
Thus, the United Nations Organization (UN ) declared in 2013 the January 16 of each year as International Beatles Day , due to the fact that two of its songs —“Love Me Do” and “PS I Love You”— are part of the European public domain. In addition, they dedicate this date as a tribute to the incredible trajectory of Liverpool’s ‘fab four’, as well as their influence on subsequent generations.

The ‘big bang’ of rock: other calendar dates for The Beatles
Some followers of the Beatles , especially the British, affirm that the true international day of the group is July 6, because it was the official date on which Lennon and McCartney, founders of the band, met.
A friend of Lennon’s, Ivy Vaughan, attended a school activity in the company of a 15-year-old music lover, Paul McCartney. After the concert, the presentations of friends began and, as a way to break the ice, McCartney sat next to the church piano and played “Whole lot of shakin”, a classic by Jerry Lee Lewis.
After a long conversation, the members of The Quarrymen invited McCartney to join the group. Two years later, John Lennon and Paul McCartney, along with George Harrison and Ringo Starr, created The Beatles, and the rest is history.
