According to the Panchang, on September 16, at 07:53 pm, Sun God has entered Virgo. In such a situation, the festival of Vishwakarma Puja is being celebrated today i.e. on September 17 (Vishwakarma Jayanti 2024 Date). On this day, the festival of Anant Chaturdashi and Ganesh Visarjan is being celebrated. There are many beliefs behind worshiping on this day.
It is a religious belief that Lord Vishwakarma (Vishwakarma Puja History) was incarnated on the day of Kanya Sankranti. This is why this day is celebrated as Vishwakarma Jayanti. Lord Vishwakarma is said to be the creator of all the Devnagaris like Swarga Lok, Pushpak Viman, Kuberpuri. Apart from this, Lord Vishwakarma built the golden Lanka and Dwarka city for Lord Krishna.
There is a religious belief that by worshipping Lord Vishwakarma on this auspicious occasion, the person gets relief from obstacles in the workplace and gets immense success in business. However, another belief is that Vishwakarma Puja was decided according to the transit of the Sun and this day came to be considered as the day of Surya Sankranti. Therefore, it falls around 17 September every year and Lord Vishwakarma is worshipped on this day.
