Mumbai: The party said that if senior Nationalist Congress leader Ajit Pawar tries to join the BJP alliance with his supporting MLAs, the Shiv Sena will walk out of the alliance.
Senior Nationalist Congress leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Ajit Pawar has reportedly split from the party along with 40 of his MLAs and is planning to form an alliance with the BJP. However, he denied this.
Speaking to the media in Mumbai, Shiv Sena spokesperson Sanjay Shirsad said, “Our decision is clear. The backstabbing party is the Nationalist Congress. We will not be in power with that party. We will leave. Because people don’t want Shiv Sena to be with Congress and NCP.
Ajit Pawar has not yet said that he will not continue in the Nationalist Congress Party. At the same time, he had no freedom in that party. If only Ajit Pawar leaves, we will welcome him. But if he comes with his supporters we will not be in government. Ajit Pawar is responsible for the overthrow of the coalition government formed in 2019. But, he has not yet revealed why it happened,” he said.
