- May reduce the weight of LPG cylinders
- Government with hint
Indications are that the government may reduce their weight as it is difficult to move from one place to another due to their heavier weight. It is difficult for women to move home-delivered gas cylinders into the kitchen. The reason behind the new intervention is that it can be easily moved from one place to another by reducing the weight of the cylinder.
But by reducing the weight of cooking gas cylinders, the government may be able to reduce the price of the cylinders. But it remains to be seen whether companies will be willing to slash the price of cooking gas cylinders significantly in the face of rising prices of petroleum products.
