New Delhi: Indian wrestler Bajrang Punia has said that winning justice here is bigger than a medal. BJP MP and President of Indian Wrestling Federation Brij Bhushan Charan Singh has been accused of sexual harassment by 7 people including famous wrestlers Vinesh Phogat and Sakshi Malik. A case has been registered against Brij Bhushan Charan Singh in this regard.
Women wrestlers continue their protest at the Jandar Mandar ground. In this case, Bajrang Punia expressed this opinion.
“We are also returning to our nature. It is very important for us to play and train accordingly. We have been doing that for years. To be frank, if we get justice, it will be bigger than winning a medal in the Asian Games,” said Bajrang Punia. The trial for the Asian Games will be held in May.
“Brij Bhushan Charan Singh intends to give political color to our struggle. He wants to take it in a different direction. He is talking like this only after the Supreme Court ordered to register the case. He is active on social media through his supporters. But it is available only in the court of justice and not on the website,” he said.
“Nikat Zareen and Sania Mirza are not from Haryana state. Olympic gold medalist Abhinav Bindra is also not from Haryana. Brij Bhushan has said that we are running politically. We don’t even know how many MPs or MLAs there are in the country,” said wrestler Vinesh Phogat.
Brij Bhushan Charan Singh reported: “I am completely innocent. I have full faith in Supreme Court and Delhi Police. I am ready to face any kind of inquiry. My resignation is no big deal. But if I resign now, it will be like accepting their charges.
Now it is known who is behind this controversy. I have been saying from the beginning that there is a connection between a businessman and the Congress. They are displeased with me. An FIR has been registered against me, but the players are still sitting on dharna. Why do they keep talking against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Sports Ministry?
They are saying that instead of waiting for the investigation report to come out, they should go to the Supreme Court and file fresh charges and save the sport of wrestling.
If the athletes were sexually harassed for 12 years, why didn’t they file a complaint with the police, the wrestling federation or the government. They have gone straight to Jandar Mantar. I have submitted an audio recording to the Inquiry Committee. In it, a person talks about arranging a woman to trap me,” he said.
