Patna: A video of migrant workers from Bihar working in Tamil Nadu being assaulted was circulated on social media. In this case, Bihar State Additional Director of Police JS Kangwar said that the Tamil Nadu Police Department has informed them that it is fake.
On Thursday, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar tweeted that he came to know about the attack on workers from Bihar state working in Tamil Nadu through newspapers. He said that he has spoken to the government officials of Tamil Nadu in this regard and has directed the chief secretary and police department to ensure the safety of workers from Bihar state living in Tamil Nadu.
Tamil Nadu Police Department DGP Shailendra Babu had given an explanation about this issue through video. He also said that they were fake videos which were deliberately shared to cause harm.
In this context, Bihar ATGP JS Kangwar says, “It seems that a video captured in a private incident has been shared on social media saying that Bihar workers have been attacked in Tamil Nadu. The Tamil Nadu police have said that they are continuing to provide security to the workers. They have firmly stated that such an incident did not happen there.
All workers are safe there. No problem there. The Bihar State Police is continuously talking to the concerned people. No such attack has come to our notice so far. We are also continuously monitoring. Also, Bihar DGP has spoken to Tamil Nadu DGP. Similarly, other top police officials are talking to Tamil Nadu police officials,” he said.
I have come to know about the attack on Bihar laborers working in Tamil Nadu through newspapers. I have directed the Bihar Chief Secretary and Director General of Police to talk to Tamil Nadu government officials to ensure the safety of Bihar laborers living there.
