Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy has lauded Srikanth, the silver medalist at the World Badminton Championships, with an incentive of Rs 7 lakh.
Kidambi Srikanth of Andhra Pradesh won a silver medal in the men’s singles event at the recent World Badminton Championships in Spain. Ahead of the match, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy announced that Kidambi Srikanth would be given a government job and an incentive of Rs 7 lakh if he won the medal.
In this context, Srikanth met and greeted Jagan Mohan Reddy at the Chief Minister’s Office in Amravati yesterday. Then Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy presented a check for Rs 7 lakh to Srikanth and handed over 5 acres of land to start a badminton academy in Tirupati. It is noteworthy that after Srikanth won the silver medal at the World Championships, he was appointed as the Associate District Governor and the order of Chief Minister Jagan Mohan was born.
