Cape Town: India lost against Australia in the warm-up match of the Women’s T20 World Cup series. Chasing the target of 130 runs to win, the Indian team scored just 85 runs and was all out.
The 8th Women’s T20 World Cup series is going to be held in South Africa. The series will be held there from 10th to 26th. A total of 10 teams including India are participating in it. There will be 23 matches including group and knock-out.
In this series, Indian team is placed in Group ‘B’ category. England, Ireland, Pakistan and West Indies teams are also in this category. The Indian team will play against the Pakistan team on the 12th. In this case, in the warm-up match of the series, India played a series of tests with the Australian team.
The Australian team won the toss and elected to bat in this match held in Cape Town. The team scored 129 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. Shika Pandey, Pooja and Radha Yadav took 2 wickets each.
India chased down the target of 130 runs to win. Shebali, Jemima Rodriguez, Smriti, Richa Ghosh rushed out and left. Deepthi alone scored the maximum 19 runs. At the end of 15 overs, India scored 85 runs, losing all their wickets. Australia won by 44 runs.
